Garold C. Vestweber, 81, of Belmond passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center. No services are planned at this time. Garold, the son of Cort and Frances (Tyler) Vestweber, was born June 14, 1938 at Iowa City, Iowa.  Garold was raised in the Alexander area and graduated from Alexander High School in 1957.  He continued his education at AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. During a high school basketball game, Garold met his high school sweetheart Mary Jane Ketchum.  The couple married on February 1, 1959 at the Belmond United Methodist Church.  To this union three children were born. Garold worked as a bookkeeper in Agri-business.  Chasing his accounting dreams, he worked for the Co-op in Klemme, National Farmers Organization (NFO) in Corning and McAlister Seed Company in Mt. Pleasant along with other jobs. Garold retired in Belmond and spent his free time antiquing.  He enjoyed sharing the story behind each antique to others.  He had a booth for 38 years at Midwest Old Threshers Reunion. Garold is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Jane of Belmond; children Dennis of Portland, Maine, Susan Delzell of Morning Sun, Iowa and her children Danielle, Joey and Travis, and Charlie (Kelly) Vestweber of Wake Forest, North Carolina and their son Brandon; four great-grandchildren; twin brother Harold along with extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
