Obituary


George Lehman, 69, of Clarion passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services for George Lehman will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Holmes Baptist Church, 2137 Hancock Avenue in Holmes, with Pastor Zach Fischer officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to funeral services at the church on Wednesday. George, the son of Norman and Joan (Ingebritson) Lehman, was born on February 18, 1949 in Iowa Falls. He was drafted into the United States Army in his late teens and was shipped to Vietnam after basic training. George was proud of his service to his country. He was awarded several medals for his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, as well as the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device. George married Kris Nikkel in 1973 and they had three daughters together, Carissa, Angela, and Cassandra. He was a very giving man and could strike up a conversation with anyone.  George was a very active in his church at Holmes Baptist.  He made lasting friendships that continued until his last day. George is survived by his three daughters Carissa (Jim), Angela (Kyle), and Cassandra (Mikhail); his seven grandchildren; extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his biological parents, adopted parents and his sister Cindy.
