Gerald Rockow, 79, of rural Belmond, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 114 East Ellsworth in Dows, with Pastor Nicole Woodley officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Dows. Visitation will be on hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Gerald Julius Rockow was born on December 18, 1942 in Clarion, the son of Frederick Julius and Fannie (Kardoes) Rockow. He attended country school at Lincoln Township 7 near Clarion.  For 20 years, Gerald farmed for Swanson's. He worked for a manufacturer and farmed for himself for 10 years. He was a member of Vernon Lutheran Church in rural Dows. Gerald is survived by his brother Richard Rockow of Belmond; nephews Sam (Janet) Rockow of Belmond and Larry Rockow of Idaho; great niece and nephew Janey Gochenouer of Belmond and Jeremy Rockow of Belmond. He is preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Fannie Rockow; and sister-in-law Twyla Rockow.
