Obituary
Gertrude Anna Steinlicht, 97, passed away Friday, December 18, 1992, at Westview Care Center.
Gertrude, the daughter of Andrew and Renske (Miller) Ennen, was born October 12, 1895 in Pontiac, Illinois. In 1896 she moved with her parents to a farm near Britt, and later to a farm between Corwith and Britt. She received her education in the country schools.
On September 13, 1916 she was united in marriage with Henry A. Steinlicht at the home of her parents in Erin Township. The couple first made their home in Belmond, later moving to a farm near Kanawha and then Corwith. In 1953 they moved to Stilson, where they operated the General Store. Following the death of her husband she moved into Britt. She has been a resident of the Westview Care Center since 1984.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; a daughter: Shirley Holmes; two sons: Henry Jr. and Robert; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters: Ione and her husband, John Lester of Norwalk, California; Alice Thompson of Chester, Iowa; Beverly Everett of Wesley, Iowa; a son: Francis (Bud) Steinlicht of Britt, Iowa; a sister: Gertie Hankins of Corwith, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
