Gladys Lodin

Gladys Lodin, 88, of Kanawha passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Westview Care Center in Britt.

Funeral services for Gladys Lodin will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Kanawha Lutheran Church, 124 West Fourth Street in Kanawha with Pastors Geoffrey and Char White officiating.  Burial will be held in Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha.

Visitation for Gladys Lodin will be one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Gladys, the daughter of Ole and Marie (Schmid) Johnson was born July 2, 1927 in Thompson, Iowa.  She grew up in Thompson and graduated from Thompson High School.

Gladys married Arnold Lodin in January of 1951 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union, two sons were born, Dennis and Tim.  The family moved to Kanawha in 1967.

Gladys enjoyed flower gardening and baking.  There were always goodies for a tea party with Brooke and cinnamon rolls for Jeff.  She loved spending time with family and playing games. Gladys also enjoyed country music.

She was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church and the women’s circle.  Gladys was employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for many years.

Gladys is survived by two children: Dennis (Dawn Hansen) Lodin of Deep Haven, Minnesota and Tim (Colleen) Lodin of Kanawha; grandchildren Jeffrey (Alexa) Lodin of Kanawha and Brooke (Heath) Tulp of Britt; one great-grandchild Sofia Lodin; brother: Floyd (Betty) Johnson of Forest City, sister-in-laws: Mavis Johnson of Forest City and Judie Johnson of Prescott, Wisconsin, along with extended family and friends.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents Ole and Marie (Schmid) Johnson; her husband Arnold (July 10, 2015), brothers Delbert and Donald Johnson.
