Obituary


Glenn L. Fraser, age 84, of Eagle Grove, formerly of Galt, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the First Lutheran Church, in Clarion, with Pastor Stan Watne officiating.  Inurnment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Clarion.

Glenn LaVerne Fraser son of Morris and Edith (Wampler) Fraser was born March 11, 1920 on a farm near Holmes, IA. He attended schools in Holmes and Clarion.

On April 4, 1939 he was united in marriage to Vivian Lester in Garner, IA. To this union one daughter was born.

Glenn farmed in the Holmes and Galt areas. He was county supervisor and worked at the assessor’s office in Clarion.

The couple spent their winters in Yuma, AZ. He was an avid rock collector and had a rock museum which was visited by many school children in the area. He enjoyed wood carving, silver smithing, and lapidary work.

He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Vivian, who resides at Rotary Ann South in Eagle Grove. His daughter Sharon Ludwig and her husband Ed of Rockwell City; one grandson, Maurice Jr. White and his wife Cathy of Williams; two granddaughters, Diane Sutherland and her husband Quin of San Diego, CA, and Phyllis Jacobson and her husband Darwin of Woolstock. He was blessed with one great-grandson, Brandon and his wife Nicole; four great-granddaughters, BreAnn and Brendelyn White, Che’ri Sutherland and Carly Jacobson; two step-great-granddaughters, Kristine and Ashton Jacobson; two brothers, Emmett Fraser and his wife Dorothy of Clarion, Donald Fraser and his wife Beverly of Mesa, AZ; one sister Phyllis Berkenes of Clarion.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Morris and Edith; two sisters, Bernice Anderson, and Maxine Berkenes.
