Obituary
Gordon Erik Christiansen, 74, passed away April 8, 1995 at Westview Care Center in Britt.
Gordon, the son of Nels Erik and Esther (Hanson) Christiansen, was born October 3, 1920 near Crystal Lake in Linden Township. He was baptized on June 28, 1924 at the United Methodist Church in Lake Mills, Iowa. Gordon graduated from the Britt High School in 1939. On October 29, 1962, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Curtiss in South Dakota. The couple lived in Moville, Iowa for a time. In 1981 Gordon retired from farming. From 1983 until 1990 he drove motorhomes for Winnebago. Gordon was a member of the American Legion in Forest City.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three daughters: Judy Chambers and her husband, Jim of Des Moines; Linda Lister and her husband, Carroll of Polk City; Mary Pavon and her husband, Tony of Des Moines; two sons: Ronald and his wife, Donna of Dexter; Douglas and his wife, Barbara of Des Moines; a sister, Fern Simonson of Carlisle; four step-children; thirteen grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-daughter.
