Obituary

Gretchen Ann Peck, age 93, of Crystal Lake, Iowa, passed away January 1, 2025, peacefully at home. Gretchen was born on September 7, 1931, in Forest City, Iowa to Lawrence "Ole" Siekmeier and Gladys (Cottington) Siekmeier. Gretchen and Willard J. Peck were married January 28, 1948. To this union were born six children: Greg, Michael, Mitchell, Linda, Kathy and Jeff. Gretchen's first love was her Heavenly Father and she placed her faith, trust and love in Him. She found great joy in helping her family and helping others. She loved gardening, burning brush, sewing, crossword puzzles and sending cards and letters to family and friends. Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Violet Christenson, Jerry Hobbs and Lucy Nielsen; brother, Norman Siekmeier; infant twin sons, Michael and Mitchell; son-in-law, Alan Jones; granddaughter-in-law, Carla Peck; great-granddaughter, Kohlie Crawford; great-grandson, Tristan Klepzig; Rodney Ruby and Willard Peck. Gretchen is survived by her children, Greg (Barb) Peck; Linda (Steve) Grover; Kathy (Steve) Miller; Jeff (Shirley) Peck; Debbie Thompson; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Siekmeier; one sister-in-law, Darlene (Darl) Schmidt; one brother-in-law, Donnie Peck. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Memorial services for Gretchen Peck will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt.
