Harlan Duane Carlson, 74, of Kanawha passed away Friday, April 30, 2004, in his
home surrounded by the love and support of his family.
Harlan, the son of Adolph and Ruth (Paskin) Carlson, was born August 8, 1929, on
the family farm west of Kanawha. He was the fourth of ten children.
Harlan enlisted in the U.S. Army in August of 1947, and served two years full
time and served in the reserves. During his time in the reserves, Harlan moved
back to Kanawha where he was employed at the elevator and farmed with his
father.
Harlan was united in marriage to Jeanne Elaine Trimble of Ventura on November
14, 1954. To this union five children were born.
Harlan is survived by his wife Jeanne of Kanawha; daughter Vicki Engh and
husband Monte of Ankeny and their children, Kari Jeanne Carlson Engh, Jeffrey
and Christopher; daughter Valorie Halbur and husband, Don of Springfield,
Missouri and daughters, Talitha and Tiffany; son Anthony " Tony" Carlson and his
wife, Rita of Britt, and children Ryan, Justin, and Lacey; son Michael Carlson
and wife, Mary of Crane, Missouri and children Isaac and Nehemiah; son Brent
Carlson and wife Kelly of Ozark, Missouri; six sisters: Marjorie Omvig of
Kanawha, Leona Abbas and husband Don of Kanawha, Maxine Eliason and husband
Cecil of Kanawha, Elaine Weiland of Klemme, Jeannette Bonjour of Idaho Falls,
Idaho, Janice Liekweg and husband Rex of Rockwell; one brother Carroll Carlson
and wife Beverly of Owatonna, Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Adolph Leo and infant sister.
