Obituary
Harold E. Haviland, 92, passed away Thursday, February 6, 1997, at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha, Iowa.
Harold, the son of Reed and Edith (Strafford) Haviland, was born November 1, 1904, in Webster CIty, Iowa. He attended school in Blairsburg. On September 3, 1927, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Gardener in Webster City. The couple farmed various communities before moving to Kanawha in 1946. Harold worked many years for the Iowa State Experimental Farm, retiring at the age of 70 years. Harold enjoyed working in his garden. He was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church.
Harold is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his son, Gene and his wife, Bev of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Timothy Haviland and his wife, Ellen and Connie Rendon and her husband, Rueben; and one sister, Erma Goosard and her husband, Myron of CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
