Obituary


Harold Beyer, 92, of Clarion passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, surrounded by his family at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services for Harold Beyer will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013, at 10:30 AM at the United Presbyterian Church, 219 1st Street Northwest, in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Harold Frederick Beyer, son of Fred and Klasine (Heiden) Beyer was born on October 24, 1920, on a farm in Vernon Township southwest of Dows. He attended school at Vernon #9 Country School and Blairsburg High School.

On September 19, 1942, he married M. Norma Bouillon and two sons; Raymond and Richard were born to this union.

Harold and Norma farmed until 1988, and they continued to live on their farm. Harold was a mechanic and could repair anything, especially if it had an engine. In 2009, they moved to the Meadows in Clarion.

Harold was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He and Norma traveled to visit their children and grandchildren and were always interested in their accomplishments. He also enjoyed going to auto racing and fishing.

Harold is survived by his devoted wife of seventy years, Norma; sons, Raymond (Jolene) Beyer of Georgetown, TX and Richard (Darlene) Beyer of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Lauri (Brian) Pate of Eagan, MN, Neil (Elizabeth) Beyer of Austin, TX, Gwen (Robert) Harrison of Edmonton, Canada and Clayton Beyer of Olathe, KS; great-grandchildren, Avery and Colton Harrison, Christopher Pate, Henry and Nathan Beyer; and a sister, Ella Detmer of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elsie Otteros and Matie Ackerman; brother, Lawrence Beyer and an infant brother and sister.
