Obituary


Harold Lewis Cook, 65, passed away Sunday, September 22, 1996, at his home in Britt, Iowa.

Harold, the son of Joseph and Hettie (Gordon) Cook, was born April 14, 1931, in Stilson, Iowa.  Harold attended school in Britt and graduated from Britt High School.  He entered the Navy serving on the USS Bayfield during the Korean Conflict.  Following his discharge, he returned to Britt and was employed with the Department of Transportation - State of Iowa until his retirement in 1986.

Harold enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and trapping.  He also enjoyed raising and racing quarter horses.  Harold was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

Harold is survived by his son, Michael and his wife, Terry of Forest City; his daughter, Janet Bolterman and her husband, Greg of Madison Heights, Michigan; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Ralph and his wife, Mary of Britt; Homer of Seattle, Washington; Marvin "Pete" and his wife, Janice of Britt; Kenneth of Seattle, Washington; and Norman and his wife, Judy of Seattle, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter - Janel Rae in 1972, three brothers and two sisters.
