Obituary


Harold Wayne Hiams, age 90, of Rowen, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Wright Medical Center.

Funeral services for Harold Hiams will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2006 at the United Church of Rowan in Rowan with Pastor JoAn Skyrme officiating. Burial will be held at Rowen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the United Church of Rowan.

Harold Wayne Hiams, son of Bert A. and Alice (Yoeman) Hiams was born on March 10, 1915 on the family farm near Rowan. He was raised and educated in Rowan, graduating from Rowan High School in 1934.

He lived and worked on the family farm his entire life. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed cars and bought a new one regularly, in his later years he enjoyed riding his bike into town and visiting at the post office. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.

Harold is survived by one brother, Ray Hiams of Rowan; his twin-sister, Hazel Lilleskau of Mason City; nephews, Paul Hardy and family of Clarion, Richard Howieson and family of Clarion; and niece, Corrine Severson and family of Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Alice; brother, Dale Hiams; two sisters, Pearl Howieson, and Doris Hardy.
