Obituary


Harriet Aulda Oudekerk, 92, of Britt, formerly of Forest City, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City surrounded by her family.

Harriet, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Nordman) Knapper was born May 22, 1915, in Woden, Iowa.  She attended country school in rural Woden.

On April 2, 1937 Harriet was united in marriage with John Oudekerk in Britt.  Harriet was a homemaker and also worked side by side with John on the farm until their retirement.

Harriet was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Britt, where she was active in the Ladies Missionary Fellowship and taught Sunday School.

Harriet is survived by four children: Wilma Harms of Waterloo, Dale (Donna) Oudekerk of Hudson, Robert (Judy) Oudekerk of Britt, Patricia (Roger) Moklestad of Thompson; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters: Rose Montieth and Stena Vessels; two brothers: Charles Knapper and Dale Knapper; other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in January of 2001, her parents; children Jon and Paul, son-in-law Floyd Harms, Jr., sister Pauline and brothers John and Herman.
