Obituary


Harriet C. Beaman, 80, passed away, Monday, February 28, 1994, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, in Mason City, Iowa.

Harriet, the daughter of Albert and Maud (Lawton) Clapsaddle, was born December 2, 1913, at Corwith, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to William Beaman on January 17, 1941, at Eagle Grove.  The couple made their home on a farm in Hancock county.  She taught in the country schools for 20 years, in Kanawha for 10 years, and in Britt for 15 years.  On January 21, 1992, she became a resident of the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church since 1924, the United Methodist Women, and the ISEA.  She sang in the church choir, was choir director, and church organist.  Harriet enjoyed her music, teaching and traveling.

Survivors include two sisters: Marjorie Beaman, Charles City, Iowa; Alberta and her husband, Harlan Stevenson, Britt, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paretns; her husband, William on January 8, 1986.
