Obituary
Helen Margerite Hoover, 89, of Ames, formerly of Britt, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2000 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, Iowa.
Helen, the daughter of Delbert and Mary (Chase) Perkins, was born July 16, 1911 in Corwith. She grew up in the Corwith and Britt area, graduating from Britt High School in 1929.
Helen was united in marriage with Robert Hoover on December 24, 1930 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The couple began farming in the Britt area in 1934. They moved into Britt in 1981.
Helen always enjoyed having friends stop in for coffee. She moved to the Story County Hospital in 1999.
Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt, the Esther Circle and the United Methodist Women.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ryburn and her husband, Jim of Britt and Jackie MacVey and her husband, Paul of Ames; nine grandchildren: Robert Ryburn, Cindy Kopacek, Mark Ryburn, Chirsty Dehn, Chad Ryburn, Linda MacVey, Troy MacVey, Todd MacVey, and Lois MacVey; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert, March 30, 1996.
