Irene Anderson/Pletcher, 84, of Britt passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City. Funeral services for Irene Anderson/Pletcher will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church, 305 South Clark Street in Forest City with Pastor Chuck Layton officiating.  Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation for Irene Anderson/Pletcher will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, 305 South Clark Street in Forest City. Irene LaVonne Whitehurst was born on August 29, 1929 to Zora (Wyant) and Noah Whitehurst in Hancock County.  She married Kenneth "Toad" Anderson on October 31, 1947 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa.  Toad passed away August 1, 1986.  Irene remarried on May 14, 1995 to Bob Pletcher.  They resided in Forest City and Bob passed away August 17, 2013.  Irene relocated to the Summit House in Britt in February 2014. Irene enjoyed many hobbies including playing the piano, golfing, bowling, and filling out word puzzles.  She always looked forward to spending time with her church circle, the Morning Glories, and loved visiting with her family and friends. Irene is survived by her children: Carolyn Hopkins of Ripley, Mississippi, Peg Claude and special friend Red Putztuck of Kanawha, Larry (Cindy) Anderson of Garner, Mike (Mary) Anderson of Britt, and Craig Anderson of Boise, Idaho; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Noah and Zora Whitehurst, and husbands Kenneth "Toad" Anderson and Bob Pletcher.
