Jack Henry Tillman

Jack Henry Tillman, 85, of Clarion, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at Careage of Clarion. Funeral services for Jack Tillman will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 1:30 pm at the Church of Christ in Clarion with Pastor Warren Curry officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Jack Henry Tillman, son of Oliver and Mae (Henry) Tillman, was born on January 24, 1926, in Lincoln Township, Iowa. He attended rural school in Lincoln Township and graduated from Clarion High School in 1943. On January 1, 1950, Jack was united in marriage to Levetta Meyer Keigan at the Congregational Church in Eagle Grove and they celebrated 61 years of marriage this year in 2011. Jack and Levetta farmed the Tillman family farm in Lincoln Township until moving to Clarion in 1985. Jack also held several jobs besides farming. After retiring, Jack and Levetta were able to spend several winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Levetta; son Larry (Bobbie) of Clarion; daughters: Sandy (Dennis) Kolbeck of Alleman, Iowa, and Connie (Russ) Lindsay of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister Wilma (Wayne) Tank of Wilton, Iowa; eight grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
