Jackie Schilling, 85, of Kanawha passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the
Rehabilitation Center of Belmond, Iowa.
Funeral services for Jackie Schilling will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010, at
10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Pastor Cynthia Morrison
officiating. Burial will be at Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 5-7 PM at Ewing
Funeral Home, 118 East Second Street, in Kanawha and will continue one hour
prior to the service at the church.
Jacqueline Joy (Amblie) Schilling was born on May 23, 1924, in Belmond, Iowa, to
Philmore and Esther (Brooks) Amblie. She graduated from Belmond High School in
1942. Jackie married Richard Schilling in January of 1944 and, to this union, 4
children were born. In 1950, they made their family home on a farm in rural
Kanawha.
Jackie enjoyed sewing, making crafts and spending time with her family. She was
a member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Richard, of Kanawha; her children: Janice
Rowray of Waterloo, Steven (Pam) Schilling of Palatine, Illinois, Lori (Rick)
Nielsen of Blaine, Minnesota, and Joy (David) Halfpap of Clear Lake; 9
grandchildren: Jeremy Rowray, Rachael Rowray, Erica (Rick) Ramirez, Brittany
(Bill) Pishotta, Terry Schilling, Joe Nielsen, Heather (Travis) Hunsaker, Ethan
Halfpap, Levi Halfpap, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents.
