Obituary


James Jurgensen, 56, of Bellevue, Washington, formerly of Corwith, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005.

James Allen Jurgensen was born October 19, 1948, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Geneva (Wolf) Jurgensen.  Jim grew up and attended school in Corwith, Iowa then enlisted in the Air Force in 1968.  He was stationed in Istanbul, Turkey and later transferred to Anchorage, Alaska in 1971.

Jim's professional career included 15 years with the Alaska based company, Yukon Office Supply, the role of a small business owner, and then closed out his career as Executive Director of ISDA.

He married Lorin Jane Blake on November 7, 1986, in Washington State, where they raised their two sons, Elias and Tristen.  Jim enjoyed fishing in Alaska (or anywhere the opportunity presented itself), summer and winter sports, coaching baseball and basketball for his sons' teams, traveling, and spending time camping with family and friends in the Trinity Alps in Norther California.

He is survived by his wife, Lorin Jurgensen, and his sons Elias and Tristen of Bellevue, Washington; his daughter Tami Janney and her husband Mark, of Shoreline, Washington; his sister Phyllis Graff and her husband, Al of Marshalltown, Iowa; his brother Jerry Jurgensen and his wife, Shirley of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews.
