Jim loved fishing, and made numerous trips to Canada, as well as the White family annual summer fishing vacation to Sunset Lodge in Park Rapids, Minnesota, a tradition the family kept for many years.  Jim also found great enjoyment in his vegetable and flower gardens.  He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed teaching young adult classes.  He also served on the church finance board, as well as the hospital board, and worked at the ASCS office for many years.
