Janet M. Beavers

Janet M. Beavers, age 81, of Chicago, native of Belmond, passed away Wednesday April 2, 2014 at her home in Chicago.

Janet, the daughter of Evelyn Dettman and Thomas Beavers, was born April 27, 1932 in Belmond where she lived and graduated from high school. After high school, Janet spread her wings, and moved to Chicago. Many years later, after raising her children in Iowa, returned to Chicago. It was her second home and Janet loved it for years. Janet was a mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her kids and grandkids meant everything to her. She loved being around family, she loved her Mother, and loved visiting her mother and family in Belmond often! She loved the Lord. Often Janet went to daily Mass, and even in her later years, when unable to get out, watched Mass on EWTN every day. She loved being out with people; every day people, people in the shops, restaurants, and church. She loved a fine meal and celebrating with family.

Janet is survived by her children, Renee Citera (Francis) of Chicago, IL, Michelle Serafini (Franco) of La Jolla, CA; two grandchildren, Jonathan Rupp, Katherine Rupp; and her siblings: Marilyn Payne (Gerry Almburg) of Ankeny, IA, Marlys Katuin (Marvin) of Mason City, IA, Dwight Beavers (Pat) of Mason City, IA and Darrell Beavers of Manly, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Thomas Beavers of Belmond, IA. She will be missed by us all.
