Janice M. (Jansen) Kuperus, 78, of Clarion passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion. A burial service will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa. Janice Mae Jansen was born on a farm near Parkersburg, Iowa on May 31, 1939. She is the daughter of George and Jennie (Hahn) Jansen. Janice married Gaylen D. Kuperus on July 23, 1957 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Aside from being a mother, she worked in retail as a sales clerk for many years. She was a member of the UCC Congregational Church, where she served on many committees over the years. She was a member of the Clarmond Country Club, and she served 7 years as the treasurer of a local sorority. Janice enjoyed playing bridge, and golfing at the Clarmond Country Club. The couple loved fishing on Leech Lake as well as at their summer home at Cass Lake where they spent many months out of the year. Janice is survived by her children, Jamie (Peggy) Kuperus of Oregon, Illinois, Jon (Amy) Kuperus of Polk City, Iowa, and Robyn (Jim) Drew of Dixon, Illinois; grandchildren, Katie (Dustin) Leo and their children Brooklyn and Maddox, Matthew (Donette) Kuperus and their children Caleb and Ava, Lee (Sarah) Kuperus and their child on the way, and Megan (Brandon) Kuperus. Janice is preceded in death by her husband Gaylen in August of 2014, daughter Gale, and 2 sisters and a brother.
