Janis F. (Beier) Smith, 69, of Webster City, most recently of Kanawha, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.   Funeral services for Janis Smith will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Pastor Cindy Morrison officiating.  Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa at 4:00 PM.   Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 beginning at 12:30 PM at the church.      Janis F. Funeral services for Janis Smith will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Pastor Cindy Morrison officiating. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 beginning at 12:30 PM at the church. Janis Fay Beier Smith, 69, of Webster City passed away April 26th at Mercy Hospital in Mason City. Funeral services will be Saturday April 30th at 1:30 pm at Kanawha United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Cindy Morrison will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at 4:00 at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Janis is one of the first set of triplets born at Mason City Hospital in 1942. She is from a family of eleven children who enjoyed singing around the piano after supper. A Sunday afternoon softball game was also a family tradition. After graduating from Klemme High School in 1960, Janis was a nurse's aide at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She met her future husband Wayne Smith while working there. They moved to Webster City where she worked for Nissen Meats in the Payroll Department. Janis then worked for CDS in data processing where she retired from in 2009. Wayne passed away November 4th, 2009. Jan & Wayne enjoyed camping and she was an avid quilter. She made over two hundred flag wall hangings commemorating September 11th. Janis is survived by her triplet brother James Beier from Newton, Pennsylvania and sister Joann (Roger) Hansen from Kanawha, Iowa; another sister LaVonne Simon from Winterset, Iowa; brothers Robert (Donna) Beier from Pleasantville, Iowa; Ronald Beier from Shevlin, Minnesota; Roger (Linda) Beier from Byron, Minnesota; brother-in-law Doug Doolittle from Webster City, Iowa; and sister-in-law Jane Beier from Klemme, Iowa. Janis also has many nieces and nephews. Janis was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Smith; her parents Elmer & Faye (Bridges) Beier; sisters Beverly (Beier) Thorson and her husband Russell and Shirley (Beier) Doolittle; brothers Eugene Beier and his wife Carmen and Gordon Beier.
