Obituary


Jenele Ditsworth, 77, of Britt passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Jenele Ditsworth will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at First Lutheran Church, 70 Fifth Avenue North West in Britt, with Pastor William Rosin officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Jenele B Ditsworth was born August 13, 1937 to Dr. H.R. and Marjorie (McNeish) Morgan in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Jenele graduated from Monticello High School in East St. Louis, Illinois and attended the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa, where she studied speech pathology.

Jenele was united in marriage to Wayne Ditsworth on January 12, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Britt.  The couple made their home in Britt, where they raised their children, Jay and Jill.

In 1984, Jenele opened the Bear Rug Carpet Store in Britt; she later owned and operated Windows by Jenele, focusing on interior design and decorating.

Jenele was a very active longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Britt, serving on many committees over the years, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, as a member of the church council, and most notably, with the choir, which was her passion.  She sang in several vocal ensembles at the church.

Jenele was a member of P.E.O., loved playing golf and working on crossword puzzles.  She was also a great cook.  She will be remembered for her big-hearted nature, her love of her grandchildren, and for her attentiveness to shut-ins around the community.

Jenele is survived by her husband Wayne of Britt, son Jay (Carolyn) Ditsworth of Flower Mound, Texas and their children Jayme and Mark, daughter Jill (Greg) Meunier and their children Samuel and Luke of Orlando, Florida, brother Judd (Shirley) Morgan of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and niece Jennifer and nephew Matthew  along with numerous friends.

Jenele was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters in infancy, and sister-in-law Char Morgan.
