Jennie DeWaard, 83, passed away Monday, October 21, 1991 at the Clarion Community Hospital in Clarion, Iowa. Jennie, the daughter of Albert and Lena (Abbas) Baker was born December 8, 1907 at Kanawha.  She was baptized at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church and she attended the country schools near her home. On February 27, 1929 she was united in marriage with Adrian DeWaard at his parents farm home near Kanawha.  The couple made their home on a farm in the Belmond and Kanawha area until 1959 at which time they moved into Kanawha. She was a member of the Wright Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha and also a member of the ladies aide. Jennie will be remembered for her "kindness and compassion." Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian who passed away May 18, 1975; four brothers: Pete, Ed, Hemmo and an infant brother, George. Survivors include one brother, Anco Baker and his wife, Pauline of Kanawha, Iowa; four sisters-in-law: Mrs. Pete Baker of Britt, Iowa; Mrs. Ed Baker of Kanawha, Iowa; Mrs. Joe DeWaard of Kanawha, Iowa; Mrs. Pete DeWaard of Kanawha, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews.
