Obituary


Jennie Peterson, 73, passed away Thursday, February 20, 1992 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.

Jennie, the daughter of Berend and Antje (DeGroote) Katuin, was born August 27, 1918 on a farm near Kanawha.  She attended school in the Amsterdam Township.

On October 7, 1940, she was united in marriage with Maynard Peterson.  The couple made their home in the Britt area.  After Maynard received his discharge from the U.S. Army, the couple moved to Farnhamville in 1954.  In 1972, they moved back to the Britt area.  In 1975, they moved to the Crystal Lake area.  Jennie retired from Winnebago Industries in 1986.

Mrs. Peterson was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Farnhamville and a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Lohrville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Dick, Harm, Albert, Ben and Folkert; two infant brothers and one grandson.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Maynard, Crystal Lake; one son, James, Farhamville; three daughters: Marj Ramthun, Indianola; Peggy and Terry Stickrod, Farnhamville; Phylis and Raymond Brend, Lohrville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Minne Peterson, Britt, Crystal Lake; Anna and Peter Paulson, Clarion; Gertie Abbas, Lakewood, Colorado; one brother, John and Ruth Katuin, Fresno, California and many nieces and nephews.
