Jennie Maage

Jennie Maage, 93, passed away Thursday, June 10, 1993 at the Clarion Care Center in Clarion, Iowa.

Jennie, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Reiseter) Maage, was born November 29, 1899 in Norway Township.  She received her education in the Clarion Schools and graduated from Clarion High School.  She taught in the rural schools for several years.  She was also employed at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company at Council Bluffs and Fort Dodge, Iowa.  In 1947 she came home to care for her aging mother.  Later she was employed at the A.S.C.S. office in Clarion, Iowa.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Kanawha.  She had been Treasurer, for the Ladies Aide for several years.  Jennie was very interested in flower arranging and gathered flowers for the church alter.  She also enjoyed bowling.  Jennie moved to Clarion in 1979 and entered the Clarion Care Center in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Erling and Helmar and his wife, Elsie; a sister, Carrie.
