Jerald Peyton, age 60, of Latimer, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2004, at the
North Iowa Hospice House in Mason City.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at
the Clarion Church of Christ, with Rev Tim Platt officiating. Burial will take
place in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Clarion.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, at the
Ewing Dugger Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street in Clarion. And will continue
one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Jerald Max Peyton son of Max and Verla (Lundahl) Peyton was born on September 9,
1944 in Hampton, IA. He grew up in the Dows and Rowan area, graduating from
Garner High School. In June of 1964 Jerry enlisted in the Air Force and served
in Viet Nam until February of 1966.
Jerry lived in Georgia and Michigan before settling down in Belmond. He also
lived in Nebraska for a while before returning to Latimer. Jerry spent most of
his life as a chef, working in Michigan, Clear Lake, and Hampton. On July 22,
1989 he was united in marriage to Donna Wilson, at Pikes Timber in rural
Clarion.
Jerry loved fishing, and watching the Greenbay Packers beat the Vikings. The
number one thing in Jerry's life was his family
Jerry is survived by his mother, Verla Lundahl of Clarion; wife, Donna of
Latimer; three daughters, Sherry Anderson and her husband, Gail of Latimer, Lisa
Peyton of Belmond, Susan Soderberg of Clarion; two sons, Joseph Soderberg of
Latimer, Jeremy Peyton of Latimer; four grandsons, Jesse, Caleb, Benjamin, and
Dylan; one brother, Micheal Bobst of Kansas City, KS; and one sister, Karen
Hodchkiss of North Carolina.
He is preceded in death by his father, Max Peyton; and one grandson Derrick.
