Jerry Gremmer, 74, passed away Thursday, January 24, 1991 at his home in Britt, Iowa. Jerry, the son of Eppo  and Jennie (Pomp) Gremmer, Sr. was born November 6, 1916 at Wesley, Iowa where he attended the rural school.  He served with the United Army during WWII. Upon his discharge, Jerry was employed for the Mullin Seed Corn Company.  On September 4, 1949 Jerry was united in marriage with Julia Braam of Mankato, Minnesota at Spencer, Iowa.  The couple has since made their home in Britt.  He was part owner of the D-X Station and he also worked for the Woodford Wheeler Lumber Company for over 30 years.  He retired at the age of 65, but continued working part-time until his illness in 1988. Jerry was a baptized member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt and also served on the church council. Survivors include his wife, Julia Gremmer of Britt, Iowa; four brothers: Peter of Vernon Center, Minnesota; Hemmo and his wife, Nellie of Britt, Iowa; Henry and his wife, Helen of Britt, Iowa; Eppo and his wife, Hyla of Britt, Iowa; two sisters: Gazena Dolphin and her husband, Kennth of Campbell, California; Anna Grace Dolphin of Olathe, Kansas; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.
