Obituary


Jerry Joseph Redden, 58, of Northbrook, Illinois, formerly of Britt, passed away Saturday, January 18, 1992 at the Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Illinois.

Jerry, the son of Francis and Perle Victoria Redden, was born January 24, 1933 at Britt.  He graduated from Britt High School in 1951 and then attended the University of Iowa.  He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.  Following his discharge, he returned to the University of Iowa and graduated.

On November 14, 1959 he was united in marriage with Patricia Hillman at Chicago.  The couple then made their home in the Northbrook area.  Mr. Redden was a field manager for A.C. Nielsen Rating Co. for 30 years.  Following an early retirement, he assumed a position of conference coordinator for the Techny Towe Complex, Techny, Illinois.

He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Fourth Degree Knight.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Redden of Northbrook. Illinois; two daughters, Kathy Redden of Northbrook, Illinois and Vicki Vollmer and her husband, Paul of McHenry, Illinois; one son, Michael Redden of Northbrook, Illinois; two grandchildren, Patrick and Kaitlyn Vollner; his mother, Perle Redden of Britt, Iowa; one brother, Don Redden and his wife, Audrey of Robbinsdale, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, John Harrington of New Carrollton, Maryland.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Francis, who passed away September 25, 1984 and a sister, Joy Harrington who passed away November 1, 1979.
