Obituary


Joel “JoJo” Nedved, age 4, of Crystal Lake passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joel Nedved will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 2343 Navy Avenue in Duncan with Father Dennis Miller and Father Paul Lippstock concelebrating.  Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Duncan.

Visitation for Joel Nedved will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with a Scriptural Wake service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Joel Jeremy “JoJo” Nedved was born June 5, 2010 to Jeremy and Mindy (Jones) Nedved in Mason City.  The family, which also includes Joel’s older sister, Chloe, makes their home in Crystal Lake.

Joel was a preschool student attending in Britt.  He loved spending time in the school library and playing on the playground.

Among Joel’s other favorite activities were riding bike and playing outside, Minecraft video game, playing with his tractors, working with tools and teasing his sister.

Joel especially loved spending time with his “favorite best friend cousin” Jackson.

Joel will be remembered as a kind, caring and big-hearted little boy.

Joel is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Mindy Nedved of Crystal Lake; his big sister Chloe Nedved; grandparents Dawn (Melvin Wellik) Nedved of Britt, Francis and Cindy Marvin of Britt and Roger and Ann Jones of Charles City; great-grandparents Donna Nedved of Clear Lake, Mary Jones of Charles City, Keith Marvin of Charles City, Sonny Farris of Clear Lake; uncle Josh Nedved of Kanawha, uncle Robby (Jessica) Jones of Charles City, aunt Angie (Chuck) Stewart of Charles City, aunt Melissa (Mark) Dorenkamp of Ankeny, uncle Dan Jones of Charles City, uncle Mike (fiancée Jackie) Jones of Cedar Falls and aunt Mary (fiancé Jake) Marvin of Britt; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Joel was preceded in death by his grandfather Mark Nedved, grandfather Eugene Jones, great-grandfather Donald Nedved, great-grandmother Dotti Farris, great-grandmother Anna Mae Marvin, great-grandparents Orville and Betty Herman and cousin Braxtyn Farris.
