Obituary


John F. Lucas, 60, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services for John Lucas will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor Warren Curry officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

John was born on October 22, 1955 in Poughkeepsie, NY and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1964. He was a master diesel engine technician for over 37 years and was a skilled craftsman who remodeled many homes including his own. He was also a talented artist who turned out beautifully carved wood bowls and other objects of art. John loved the outdoor life and enjoyed fishing, shrimping, boating, fossil hunting and traveling with his family. He was a lover of animals, a well respected and hard working man, and he had a strength and courage that inspired many. His easy going spirit, gentle manner and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live in our hearts forever.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Lucas and Ann Lucas, and his beloved dog, Tucker, John is survived by his wife, Anne, sons, Matthew and Phillip, siblings, David (Christine) Lucas, Luanne (Henry) Cohen, and Steven (Priscilla) Lucas, mother in law, Ruth Dougherty, sister in law, Jan Dougherty and his dogs Horton and Lexi. Additionally, John was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and a treasured cousin.
