Obituary
John Oudekerk, 85, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2001 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
John Oudekerk the son of Roelf and Rena (Weichers) Oudekerk was born March 14, 1915, at Dumont, Iowa. He attended the country schools.
On April 2, 1937, John was united in marriage with Harriet Knapper in Britt. The couple farmed their entire married life in the Woden and Crystal Lake area. John enjoyed farming, welding, and restoring old tractors.
John was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Britt where he served on various church boards.
Mr. Oudekerk is survived by his wife, Harriet; four children: Wilma Harms of Waterloo, Dale Oudekerk of Hudson, Robert Oudekerk of Britt, and Patricia Moklestad of Thompson; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Oudekerk and five sisters: Jesse Oudekerk, Rosie Holicek, Irene Miller, Harriet Thoren, and Cora Maupin.
Preceding him in death were his parents, son Jon, infant son Paul, one sister, and three brothers.
