Joseph "Joe" W. Ansel

Joseph W. Ansel passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Clarion, Iowa. Memorial services for Joe Ansel will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Graveside services will be private. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion. Joseph William Ansel, son of Raymond and Barbara Ansel, was born on September 8, 1964 in Belmond, Iowa. He grew up in Kanawha, graduating from Kanawha High School in 1983. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was also a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and really enjoyed watching them win the World Series this year. Joe lived a life of adventure, traveling and finding things to fix and projects to build. Regardless of where his adventures took him, Joe always returned home to his son, family and friends. Joe is survived by his son, Noah Ansel, of Clarion; his mother, Barbara Ansel, of Clarion; sister, Laurie (Herb) Schreur, of Kanawha; brother Mark (Meridee) Ansel, of Kanawha; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Raymond Ansel; brother, Michael Ansel; and sister, Betsy Mraz.
