Joyce M. Nail, 87, of Clarion passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Clarion
Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.
Funeral services for Joyce Nail will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 10:30
a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 201 3rd Avenue Northeast in Clarion, with
Reverend Mike Gudka officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in
Clarion.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at
Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East, in Clarion and will continue one
hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Joyce Marlene, the daughter of Christian and Gertrude (Hill) Miller was born
February 19, 1931 in Hampton. She was raised and educated in Clarion, graduating
from Clarion High School in 1949.
On August 20, 1950, Joyce was united in marriage to Wendell Nail. To this union,
seven children were born. The couple farmed near Clarion for nearly 45 years.
Joyce worked various retail positions in Clarion over the years, including at
Ramsey's, Gamble's, the Fashionette and at Coast to Coast.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, was active as a member of the
Clarion United Methodist Church, belonged to various ladies' clubs, and was a
4-H Leader for a number of years. She enjoyed golfing and having coffee with the
ladies. She and Wendell also loved spending the winters in Arizona for more than
20 years.
Joyce is survived by her children: Mike (Nancy) Nail of Clarion, Bruce (Cinda)
Nail of Clarion, Jeff (Mary) Nail of Owatonna, Minnesota, Nancy (Brian) Ring of
Clarion, Mark (Karen) Nail of Argyle, Texas, and Edward (Marlys) Nail of Webster
City; grandchildren: Dawn Nail, Ryan (Jessica) Nail, Chad (Latischa) Nail, Lacey
(Justin) Reed, Kevin (Bobbi) Ring, Matt (Megan) Ring, Sara (Nick) Kayser,
Jessica (Chris) Pint, Ashley (Mike) Barton, Brittany Nail, Wyatt (Kelly) Church,
and Bob (Sara) McNutt; great-grandchildren: Emerson, Corbin, Kipton, Laityn,
Emily, Tyler, Kaeson, Karlee, Zoey, Kinley, Elsie, Calan, Mason, Connor,
Mackenzie, Bobby, and Coleman; sisters: Florence Valen and Mildred Lyons;
sisters-in-law Barb Nail, Joyce Fulton, and Fely Nail; along with numerous
nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wendell in 2009, and
daughter JoAnn in infancy.
