Obituary


Juan Luis Hernandez, 44, passed away Monday, January 8, 1996, at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Juan, the son of Manuel and Oralia Munoz Hernandez, was born December 18, 1951, in Kingsville, Texas.  Juan lived most of his teenage years in Laureles Ranch, where he was a cowboy, working along side his father, who taught him all there is to know about horses, which later made him a pro.  In 1968, the family moved to Kingsville, where he met and married his wife, Juanita Medrano on September 21, 1968.  To this union one son was born, Jose.  In 1973, they moved to Iowa, where ever since then, Iowa has been their home.  Juan worked for IMT for almost 7 years.

Juan is survived by his wife, Juanita; his son Jose of Britt, IA; his granddaughter Cassandra Ann "Cassie"; seven brothers: Ruben Hernandez of Kingsville, TX; Lupe Hernandez of Kingsville, TX; Robert Hernandez of Britt, IA; Joe Hernandez of Mason City, IA; Oscar Hernandez of Kingsville, TX; Juan Rene Hernandez of Kanawha, IA; four sisters: Manuela Esquivel and her husband, Armando of Reedspring, MO; Dora Quintanilla and her husband, Isareal of Britt, IA; Minnie Mendoza and her husband, Able of Kanawha, IA; Margarita Hernandez of Kanawha, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
