Obituary


Judith A. Foster, 72, of Woolstock, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at UnityPoint - Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services for Judy Foster will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Samuel Lutheran Church, 201 North Lincoln in Eagle Grove, with Pastor Rich Taylor officiating. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Visitation for Judy Foster will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church in Eagle Grove on Tuesday.

Judith Ann, daughter of Charles ‘Pat’ and Mary (Simpson) Ryan, was born on November 12, 1947 in Webster City. Judy grew up in Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1966. Judy worked as a certificated nurse’s assistant for local care centers and in-home health care for 25 years.

Judy was united in marriage to Russell Woodall. To this union, three daughters were born, April, Nancy, and Michelle. On May 6, 1978, Judy was united in marriage to Samuel Foster in Eagle Grove. The couple was blessed with one son, Kyle.

Judy enjoyed crafting and sewing, including making dresses for her daughters. Judy loved doing puzzle books and scratch off lottery tickets. Sam and Judy enjoyed camping and going fishing together.

Judy is survived by her husband Sam of Woolstock; children Nancy (Jim) Craft of Fort Dodge, Michelle Olson of Eagle Grove, and Kyle Foster (Hiedi Chodur) of Eagle Grove; nine grandchildren Shannon Russell (Brandon Ellis), James Craft, Kristina Olson, Jarrett Choder, Jamie Lynn Dickens, Marissa Olson, Emily Foster, Sam Foster, and Jordan Choder; four great-grandchildren Danika Russell, Cataleya Russell Ardyn Ellis, and Aralyn Ellis; two sisters Rita Clem of Oakland, California and Marcia Arnoldt of Juno, Alaska; and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter April Lynn in 1994; parents; and brother Harold ‘Mick’ Ryan.
