Obituary

June E. Giesey of Kalispell, MT died September 11, 2016 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.

A private family service was held.

June Evelyn was born June 19, 1929 in Whitefish, MT to William and Anna Greenland. She had nine brothers and sisters and was educated in a nearby country school. In her late teens she moved to Kalispell and worked as a live-in caretaker for a physician’s family. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Kalispell. June later invited her family to church, and together 17 made decisions to follow Christ Jesus in one day! This is where she also met her loving and faithful husband Roscoe Ray Giesey.

On March 18, 1951 she and Roscoe were married, and to this union two daughters were born: Ruth and Mary. In 2011 the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Roscoe died that October.

June loved to sew and make clothes, quilts and baby quilts for her extended family. She crocheted, enjoyed many crafts, and was an excellent cook and homemaker. She was especially known for her homemade rolls, huckleberry pie and baked goods. She loved to share with neighbors and friends, and baked communion bread for church every month for many years. She will be fondly remembered for her sweet smile, hospitality, and her blunt and honest responses.

June was active in Bethel Baptist Church and she loved the Lord first and foremost. Her family continues to benefit from her and Roscoe’s prayers for them all, and the faith they passed down. June had been an Iowa resident since 2014.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe; brothers Henry, Loren, Merle, Wilbur and Delbert; sisters Velma, Vera and Floy; and twin granddaughters Andrea Grace and Nicole June Falk.

June is survived by her sister Della (Alex) Tom of WA; daughters Ruth (Leonard) Falk of Kalispell, and Mary (Marvin) Goemaat of Belmond; grandsons William Falk of Kalispell, Justin (Brittany) Goemaat and their son Wyatt of Belmond, and Dan (Sara) Goemaat of Belmond.
