Kae LaVee Chelsvig, daughter of Arthur and Gladys (Severson) Chelsvig, was born on September 11, 1938 in Jefferson, Iowa. Kae grew up and attended school in Kanawha. She graduated from Kanawha High School in 1956. After high school, Kae attended Hamilton’s Business College in Mason City. She moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where she worked at Silver’s Jewelry Store before moving back to Kanawha.

On April 27, 1962, Kae was united in marriage with Louis Dallman at the First Lutheran Church in Britt. They made their home on the farm outside of Kanawha where they raised their five children.

Through the years, besides helping on the farm and being a farm wife and mother, Kae volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, was president of the Kanawha Swimming Pool, and was a Sunday school teacher at the Kanawha Lutheran Church. She also worked at the Kanawha and Belmond Care Centers.

Kae enjoyed reading books, gardening, and loved taking care of her pets on the farm.

Kae was a kind and loving person with a sense of humor, and who always had a smile on her face. What made her most happy and proud was being a wife, mother, and grandmother and spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Louis Dallman of Kanawha; children David and Caprecia Dallman of Virginia, Derrin and Wendy Dallman of Arizona, Deb and Gary Hiscocks of Algona, Donnie and Holli Dallman of Cambridge, and Dennis and Peggy Dallman of Kanawha; grandchildren RaeAnn Hiscocks (Tyler Patzner), Casey Hiscocks, Martha Ray Dallman, Louis Arthur Dallman, Sara Kay Dallman, Molly Beverly Dallman, Beth Ann Dallman, Patrick and Mara Weatherford, Brock Dallman, Carrie and John Carlin, Nicole Beasley, and Shawn and Jana Mewes; several great-grandchildren; brother Keith and Esther Chelsvig of Illinois; and brother and sister-in-law Don (Dorothy) Dallman Britt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
