Karin E. (Pratt) Delger, 68, of Kanawha passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at
her home.
Public graveside service will be held Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:30 AM in
Amsterdam Township Cemetery near Kanawha with Pastor Steve Couch officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 27, 2020 at Amsterdam Township
Cemetery near Kanawha.
Those planning to attend the graveside service are invited to bring a lawn
chair. Those in attendance will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines
and encouraged to wear a face covering.
Karin was born in Michigan City, Indiana to John and Betty Pratt. Karin grew up
on a farm in Indiana. She was baptized at age 12 and became a member of the
Hobart First Christian Church.
She graduated from Portage High School, Portage, Indiana and went on to graduate
from Indiana University with degrees in education, business and journalism. She
worked in marketing for Indiana University and the insurance industry before
making a career change to social work. She worked in several Wisconsin counties
in community mental health as a psychotherapist.
Karin married Paul Delger in 2013 and relocated to his hometown of Kanawha,
Iowa. Karin served as the Clinical Supervisor for Catholic Charities in Fort
Dodge, Iowa and as a mental health therapist for Iowa Specialty Hospital in
Belmond and Clarion.
Karin was a life-long learner who had many interests including quilting, art,
reading and gardening. She had a big heart for the disadvantaged and certainly
displayed the hands and feet of Jesus. She attended the Britt Free Church.
Karin is survived by her husband, Paul Delger; niece Catherine Pratt (Charles);
her friend Susan Fenton; and many cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents, brother John Michael, her friend Marcia
Beckman.
