Obituary
Kathleen H. Dorr, 60, Walhalla, Michigan, died April 2, 2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Cemetery near Belmond.
Kathleen Hope, the daughter of Mary Ann Pigman and Raymond Perkins, was born October 1, 1953 in Algona. She was the youngest in the family of 13 brothers and sisters. On May 19, 1972 Kathy was united in marriage with Kevin Dorr at St. Francis Xavier in Belmond. They raised their family in Belmond until Kevin's passing in 2004. Kathy moved to Michigan in 2011 to help her sister with health issues. She loved the woods of Michigan and getting to know a new area and new friends in her life. Most often smiling, or laughing, Kathy enjoyed so many things in life. She was a skilled artist and enjoyed reading, cooking and baking family recipes that had been passed down. She also loved Iowa gravel roads, searching for cattails and pheasants.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Marie Perkins; sister Alice Tabb; brother Delbert Perkins; brother Marvin Perkins; sister Ramona Groebner; brother Jerry Perkins; and brother Ron Perkins.
Kathy is survived by her daughter Heather Dorr and wife Michele Nunnally of Saint Paul, MN; son Joshua Dorr and partner Ashley Figgins of Walhalla; sister June Okland and her partner Emery of Colusa, CA; sister Joan Anderson of Cape Girardeau, MO; sister Patricia Penning of Algona; sister Karen Reher and her husband, Rick of Fountain, MI; brothers Al Perkins (Tina) of Quartzsite, AZ; and brother Robert Perkins (Marilyn) of Britt.
