Obituary


Keith A. Loux, 79, of Clarion passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Funeral services for Keith Loux will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 121 3rd Avenue North West in Clarion with Reverend Bill Kem officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Keith Arthur Loux was born April 7, 1933 to Arthur and Esther (Forristall) Loux on the family farm southeast of Clarion.  He attended Lincoln Township country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Clarion High School in May of 1952.

Keith was united in marriage to Jane Helgevold on February 20, 1955 at the Congregational Church in Clarion.  The couple made their home on the family farm where they lived until moving to Clarion in October of 2009.

A lifelong farmer, Keith was especially proud of the Century Farm recognition the family received in August of 2012 at the Iowa State Fair.

Keith and Jane also enjoyed spending winters in Lake Corpus Christi, Texas, which allowed him to fish year round.  He also loved hunting, riding motorcycles, attending auctions and flea markets.

Keith was a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Clarion, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Wright County Gun Club.

Keith is survived by his wife, Jane of Clarion; children, Leland (Jane) Loux of Sac City, Kristine Burns of Temple, Texas, and Lynn (Linda) Loux of Belmond; grandchildren Adam (Nicole) Loux and their children Ethan and Erik of Indianola, Michael (Stephanie) Loux and their children Layla and Mason of Olathe, Kansas, Jason (Jackie) Wessels and their children Madison and Tristan of Belmond, and Josh (Mandy) Wessels and their children Abram and Azure of Belmond.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.
