Kristin K. (Bahling) Jacobsen

Kristin K. Jacobsen, 64, of Dows, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City.

Private family funeral services will be held.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond.

Kris was born on September 21, 1958 to Gerald and Barbara (Hott) Bahling. The youngest of six children, she grew up on her parents' family farm near Titonka, Iowa. She graduated from Titonka Consolidated School in 1977 and attended the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa Lakes Community College. Kris worked for over 15 years at the Titonka Savings Bank, in addition to raising her two daughters. She went on to support the family farming business by helping with such things as record keeping, driving the grain cart, and providing countless "to-go" meals.

Kris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her granddaughters were her world and she treasured the time she spent with them. Home decorating was her hobby. She loved trips to the furniture store, gathering swatches and samples, and frequently helped friends and family by giving suggestions as well.

She met the love of her life, David, in 1999 and they were happily married for 22 years. They enjoyed living and working on their family farm near Dows, participating in church activities, attending Iowa State basketball and football games, vacations, and other family activities. They were active members of Peace Reformed Church.

Kris is preceded in death by her infant daughter Kelli Jo, mother Barbara, father Gerald, and sister Janet Brown.

She is survived by her husband David Jacobsen of Dows, IA, daughters Kandice (Brock) Bonnicksen of Adel, IA and Jacki (Matt) Nail of West Des Moines, IA, granddaughters Kelli Bonnicksen and Nora Nail, siblings Fran Ommen of Rochester, MN, Jim (Shirley) Bahling of Beggs, OK, Mary (Royce) Gray of Algona, IA, Gary (Laurie) Bahling of Titonka, IA, and many family members and friends.

Kris will especially be remembered for her warm smile, thoughtfulness, and the kindness she brought with her wherever she went.
