Larry D. Eliason, 80, of Kanawha, passed away unexpectedly at his home on
December 11, 2020 with his loving wife Ally at his side.
We will gather later to celebrate Larry's life outside on a nice, warm, sunny
day in 2021.
Larry Dean was born on Sept 28, 1940 to Elmer and Mabel (Tegland) Eliason in
Hancock County. He was a caring, loving and hard working person. Larry spent
many years farming just northwest of Kanawha while also working briefly as a
mechanic for Yeakel Garage.
On November 18, 1990 Larry was united in marriage to Allyson "Ally" Yarger at
the Kanawha Lutheran Church. They lived on the family farm until moving into
town August 1999. Larry was co-owner of Tally's Bar and Grill (1995 – 2005) and
Tally's Tastefully Yours Catering (1995 – to present.) He also worked for Custom
Craft, a custom trailer outfitter. Larry's current employer was West Hancock
Community School as a night time cleaner. He took great pride in maintaining
the 5/6th wing of West Hancock Middle School.
Larry so enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing and was part of the Kanawha
TLTC Rendevouz Club. He was a computer wizard and loved tinkering with
machines and photography. Spending time with his family seemed to bring him the
most joy. Papa loved his morning routine of taking Cooper to school.
Larry is survived by wife Ally; daughters Susan Eliason of Falmouth, MA, Beth
Eliason (Mike Rose) of Peoria, AZ, Tara Sobek (Scott) of Kanawha; grandchildren
Owen Rehrauer of Columbia OH, Meg Rehrauer of Medway, MA, Rydell (Sarah) Rose of
Peoria, AZ, Brock Sobek of Forest City, IA, Bailey Sobek of Forest City, IA,
Cooper Sobek of Kanawha; sister-in-law, Maxine Eliason of Kanawha; and many
nieces and nephews and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by parents and brothers Ernest, Robert, Donald,
Melvin, Everett, Cecil Eliason and Eddie Tegland.
