Obituary


Larry Keith Peck, 69, of Clarion Iowa passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at his home after a yearlong battle with leukemia.

Funeral services for Larry Peck will be held Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Christ in Clarion with Pastor Warren Curry officiating.  Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Home, 602 N Main St., in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Larry was born in the Hamilton County Hospital on the morning of June 26, 1939, to parents Frank E. Jr. and Bertha (Hisler) Peck. He was raised on the family farm and attended Wall Lake #8 country school until the eighth grade. He completed his education, graduating from Clarion High School in 1956. He served in the Air Force Reserves from 1961 to 1967.

Larry was devoted to farming from an early age and farmed in Wall Lake Township his entire life. In April of 1987 Larry was married to Karolyn Kay Campbell.

Larry enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he loved to hunt and fish. He and Kay spent their summers at their home on Eagle Lake, MN.

Larry was a committed member of the Clarion Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon on the churches board of directors. He also served as President of the board of directors for the Hawkeye Mink Cooperative in Jewell, IA.

Larry is survived by his mother, Bertha Peck of Clarion; sister Loretta Houston and husband Rob of Reno, NV; stepdaughter, Lisa Kluss and husband Dean of Woolstock; stepson Mark Campbell of Des Moines; grandson Andy Kluss of Woolstock; nephew Jeff Houston of Reno, NV.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife Kay and father Frank E. Peck Jr.

Memorials may be given in Larry’s name to the Methodist Church, Church of Christ or Wright County Hospice.
