Obituary
Leonard Leroy Rounds, 78, passed away Thursday, August 6, 1992 at his home in Britt, Iowa.
Leonard was born March 1, 1914 at Huron, South Dakota. He graduated from the New Hampton High School.
On September 25, 1936, he was united in marriage with Florence Sauer at Algona. Leonard entered the United States Navy in 1942, during World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He received his discharge in 1945. The couple established their home in Britt where Leonard was employed as a contractor in general construction. In 1980, he retired due to ill health.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt, a charter member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Britt American Legion Post #315.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Rounds of Britt, Iowa; two sons: Robert Rounds and his wife, Winifred of Perry, Iowa; Curtis Rounds and his wife, Cheryl of Britt, Iowa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Violet Ward of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin; Mary Ratliff of Huron, South Dakota; one brother, Howard Wallman of Maryland.
Leonard was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Rounds, who passed away April, 27, 1982 and a brother.
