Obituary


Leone McClelland, 92, of Clarion, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005 at USA Healthcare Center in Clarion, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. on Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion with Pastor Tim Platt officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday May 15, 2005 at Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion, Iowa and will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.

Leone McClelland was born on October 7, 1912 to Earl and Lillian (Krug) Messer. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School.

On January 1, 1933 she married Leslie (Casey) Raymond McClelland. They settled in Clarion where he was employed by the Great Western Railroad. After her husband’s tragic death on March 17, 1950, Leone worked at the Clarion Memorial Hospital until she retired.

Leone was a great cook and a wonderful mother.

She is survived by her son, Jerry of New Orleans; daughter, Sandra Rhyan and her husband Dennis of North Dakota; son, Paul and his wife Judy of New York; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey; her son Earl; and daughter, Judy Adams.
