Letty Marlene Eriksen, 88, of Clarion and formerly of Dows, passed away on
Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services for Letty Marlene Eriksen will be held on Saturday, August
24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Dows. Pastor Mark Peterson will
officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of donor's choice.
Letty Marlene, daughter of Ray Bruce and Hazel Elizabeth (Tomlinson) French, was
born on March 21, 1931 in Prairie City. Her family moved to Pocahontas and later
to Dows where she grew up.
On January 24, 1948, Marlene was united in marriage to Norman Eriksen at the
Little Brown Church in Nashua. Marlene managed the Dows Swimming Pool, worked at
the Dows Care Center, and was also an EMT for Dows Ambulance. She later worked
at Meredith Corporation in Clarion.
Norman and Marlene enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Las Vegas. In her spare
time, Marlene was either watching TV or the birds outside, or working on word
puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and attending her children and
grandchildren's activities they were involved in.
Marlene is survived by her three daughters Mary Ellen (Lynne) Rosendahl of Clear
Lake, Marsha Kay (David) Anderson of Clarion, and Marla Dee (Doug) Hanson of
Goodell; nine grandchildren Adam (Anna) Rosendahl, Dr. Matthew (Cara) Wegner,
Angela (Rich) Rosendahl Schaeffer, Lisa (Joby) Brogden, Andrew Rosendahl (Grace
Tindugan), Brad Anderson (Andrea Johnson), Scott (Amanda) Anderson, Amber
Pavlovec, and Jeff Hanson; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Iris Eriksen;
two brothers-in-law Louis Speiss and Robert Franklin; and many other family and
friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Norman; son Roger; daughter
Margaret; grandson Jeremy Hanson; and five siblings Norma, Bruce, Madeline,
Carole, and Lorraine.
