Levetta M. (Meyer Keigan) Tillman

Levetta Tillman, 90, of Clarion passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.

Funeral services for Levetta Tillman will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Clarion Church of Christ, 420 North Main Street in Clarion, with Pastor Warren Curry officiating.  

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Levetta Mae Meyer, daughter of Ira (Tim) and Mildred (Elston) Meyer was born October 3, 1926 on a farm north of Blairsburg.  Levetta went to country school in Wall Lake Township, and then to Blairsburg High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Vernon Keigan in 1943.  To this union two daughters, Sandra and Connie, were born.  In 1947, Vernon was killed in an airplane accident.

In 1950, Levetta married Jack Tillman from Clarion, and to this union a son, Larry, was born.  Jack and Levetta farmed on the Tillman family farm and raised their family.

Levetta enjoyed playing cards and table games, and having coffee with her friends.  She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs on TV and listening to country western music.  Most of all, she enjoyed her family and her friends.

Levetta is survived by her daughters Sandy (Denny) Kolbeck of Alleman, Iowa, and Connie (Russ) Lindsay of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son Larry (Bobbie) Tillman of Clarion; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother Richard (Pat) Meyer of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and sister Marge McCarthy of Cupertino, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Vernon and Jack, brothers John and Gary, and sister Shirley Schultz.
